The Game Warden Service has their work cut out for them as they must go up against wild life and wild people. They crack down on law breakers and protect the state of Maine's forests and their residents. They must patrol more than eighteen million acres of rugged terrain; this includes cliffs, dense forest, lake shores and rivers.

Serving and protecting Maine's wildlife since 1880

Now the Maine Warden Service is modern, professional, highly effective as a law enforcement agency. Wardens are certified law enforcement officers who use state-of-the-art equipment that includes trucks, boats, snowmobiles, ATV's, PC's, two-way radio repeater network, portable radios, GPS, forensic mapping equipment, fixed wing aircraft, and night vision equipment! All that tech to get the job done right and safely.
